About Us

Optimum Nurse Aid Skills Training is owned by Ms. Carole Marie Freelon. Ms. Freelon has a BS degree in Social Psychology obtained from Park University.Accreditation and Approvals: The school is approved by the Texas Department of Health and Human Services. The curriculum for the Nurse Aid Training Program is adopted from the National Nurse Aid Assessment Program (NNAAP), Nurse Aid Training and Competency Evaluation Programs (NATCEPs), as well as approved and regulated by the Texas Workforce Commission, Career Schools and Colleges, Austin, Texas. The curriculum used by Optimum Skills Training is adopted from the Texas Department of Health and Services Nurse Aid curriculum.**Optimum Nurse Aid Skills Training **is designed to provide training for individuals seeking to enter the beginning levels of the medical profession. Instructors are carefully selected to ensure they possess the passion, commitment, and teaching capability to ensure that each student participant is afforded the best opportunity to achieve a successful class outcome.

Training Programs

The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) program will provide students with classroom and hands-on skills training where they will learn:

- Critical Thinking Skills
- Basic First Aid
- CPR
- How to Take Vital Signs

Graduates who successfully complete the Texas Health and Human Services Commission required 60 hours classroom and 40 hours hands-on clinical training, will receive a certificate of completion, and will be eligible, and well prepared to successfully take the Nurse Aide Training Competency Evaluation Program Exam. Once completed, Graduates will be positioned to be successfully employed in hospitals, long-term care facilities and home healthcare settings.

Our Phlebotomy Training course includes the opportunity to become a certified professional collector, which includes, but is not limited to pre-employment drug testing, court ordered drug testing, and paternity testing. Graduates of the program will receive four certifications in one. Successful graduates will meet the requirements to take the Certified Professional Technician Exam provided by the National Healthcare Association.

CPR Training CourseThe Basic Life Support (BLS) course trains participants to promptly recognize several life-threatening emergencies, give high-quality chest compressions, deliver appropriate ventilations, and provide early use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED). In the Instructor-led course, students participate in simulated clinical scenarios and learning stations. Students work with an American Heart Association (AHA BLS) Instructor to complete BLS skills practice and skills training. Students also complete a written exam.Mobile Training is available for BLS Training. Please call or email staff for additional information..

Course Tuition Fee:The tuition fee for this course is $55 per participant.


The CPR Instructor Training course provides participants with the required knowledge to become CPR Trainers. Please call or email staff for additional information.

Optimum Student Eligibility

All individuals aged sixteen or older, who provide proof of a GED or higher level of education are eligible to participate in all courses. Participants under the age of eighteen require written permission from a parent or legal guardian.
